PLEASE NOTE:
DUE TO A CONFLICT, THIS MONTH’S LUNCHEON WILL NOW BE HELD
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14th
The trade situation between the United States and China continues to gain national attention as the U.S. undergoes a historic shift in its international trade policies.
Please feel free to join Chief Economist Jeff Ferry from the Coalition for a Prosperous America for our monthly Washington, D.C. policy luncheon that will take place on Thursday, November 14th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. His presentation, “Strategic Trade Policy: Trade, Manufacturing, Economic Growth, & China,” will provide an overview of the trade history between the U.S. and China before highlighting specific policy changes that could significantly adjust the relationship going forward.
Trade with China’s effect on domestic manufacturers will be evaluated by Mr. Ferry as he discusses how employment and average wage rates decreased in previous years. New approaches to America’s trade relationships could be the catalyst for economic growth in the industries hit hardest by international competition and altered pricing.
Mr. Ferry’s luncheon presentation analyzes what regions are benefitting from a U.S. shift in international trade policy, methods for combatting the nation’s trade deficit, and what impacts to anticipate from the concept of decoupling from China. He will also describe why companies with headquarters in America have begun to bring their manufacturing operations back to the states as a result of the continuing trade battle.
REMI luncheons are held each month at Metro Center, 700 12th Street, NW, Suite 700, Washington D.C. 20005.
