Washington, D.C. Luncheon Cybersecurity Workforce Development and the Impact on Regional Economies

Info

This month’s Washington, D.C. policy luncheon features guest speaker Dominic Modicamore, Lead Labor Economist Consultant at ICF, as he presents “Cybersecurity Workforce Development and the Impact on Regional Economies.”

His presentation on Thursday, February 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. provides a detailed overview of workforce development’s vital role in fostering a region’s economic growth by analyzing a project designed to establish apprenticeship programs in the cyber sector.

We will also be offering this event as a webinar simulcast for those who are outside of the D.C. area or unable to attend in person. To sign up for the simulcast, please register by clicking here.

The Cybersecurity Youth Apprenticeship Initiative (CYAI) collaborates with employers and training providers to help fill the large shortage of cyber workers in this country. By evaluating the Initiative’s provisions, analysts can establish a framework for determining the value of enhanced workforce development, training, and education.

Mr. Modicamore is prepared to discuss how projects like the CYAI can impact regional economies before explaining how REMI can be used to measure the effects of developing a more skilled labor force. Demonstrations of the methodological approaches utilized in ICF’s analysis, descriptions of the project’s major components, and the key findings will all be included in this luncheon presentation.

REMI luncheons are held each month at Metro Center, 700 12th Street, NW, Suite 700, Washington D.C. 20005. For more information on the CYAI, you can visit CYAI2024.org.
